👋Quickstart Guide: Advisor
Welcome to Stellic!
We're excited to help you spend less time tracking degree progress and more time on quality advising. This guide covers the essentials to get you started- for deeper dives into specific features, we'll link to detailed articles along the way.
Finding students
Stellic gives you flexible options for finding individual students or groups of students.
Search and filter: Use the student search to filter by GPA, requirements left to plan, and more. Your results display key information at a glance- affiliated programs, courses taken and remaining, and alerts. Click on any student to open their full plan and profile.
Save your searches: Save any filter as a Quick Filter to reuse later. Quick Filters also help you monitor student groups over time- we'll show you when the number of students meeting your criteria changes between visits.
Bulk actions: Use the Actions button above your search results to print a bulk audit report.
Viewing a student's profile and audit
Click on any student from search results, or search by name or username, to open their full profile.
At the top, you'll find basic information including cumulative and semester GPA, degree progress, and courses they're currently taking or registered for. Scroll down to view their audit; the full list of courses needed to complete their degree plan.
You can toggle between views depending on what you need:
Official audit: Courses taken or currently registered
Planned audit: Includes courses the student has planned out in Stellic
Compact audit: A condensed view
Remaining only: Focus on just what's left to complete
Click on any course in Audit or Planner view for course details. From the profile, you can also print several variations of an audit report or message the student through Stellic's messages feature.
Using the planner
To see a student's plan laid out by term, click Planner. Pre- and co-requisite information is highlighted in grey.
Setting up alerts
Alerts help you stay on top of important changes without manually checking each student.
To configure your alerts, click your name or the notification icon in the top right corner and select Notification Settings. You can set up email or in-app notifications for events like a GPA drop or a failing grade.
Exceptions
Stellic allows exceptions to be made on student plans. For details on how exceptions work, see (placeholder: Exceptions article). Contact your institution's Stellic administrator for information on who has the ability to make exceptions.
